Over the past few weeks, I was fortunate to head back down to Gulf Shores, Alabama for some awesome flying with my friends Rod Kellogg, Haley Howard, Andrew Stover, and Taylor Messer. And as a new thing this trip, I got to bring my close friend and pilot Matthew Parker along for part of the week! Final At Dauphin Island Andrew hits his 100th hour! I’ll have plenty of videos coming out soon from our filming, but here’s the first beach-themed video: Between trips to Dauphin Island AL, Destin FL, Hattiesburg MS, and even New Orleans LA, it was another great trip for Gulf Coast Flying! And between flying a Piper Warrior, C172, and Carbon Cub, it was just the kind of flying I love…. Not to mention that I got to help install a STOL Kit on Haley’s new C172! Here are some of the photo highlights from the trip: When it’s too cloudy for flying… -Swayne Share this:ShareTwitterLinkedInEmailPrint 6 Responses Tyler January 19, 2016 Dauphin Island is one of my bucket list destinations after I get my PPL. Something about a peninsula runway! Reply Swayne Martin January 20, 2016 It’s one of my favorite airports! Reply Dave January 20, 2016 Check out KDYT in Duluth – sort of comparable to Dauphin, and you could make a trip out of it from NDSU! Swayne Martin January 21, 2016 Yeah that’d be a great trip! I hope to do a cross country flight over there one day. Dave January 21, 2016 It would be a bit of a longer flight, but you could probably make it over to KDYT in your plane…make a weekend out of it. Similar to Dauphin. http://skyharbor.duluthairport.com/visit-sky-harbor/#jp-carousel-387 Reply Dominic January 31, 2016 Awesome pictures and pretty gnarly runway.
