If you want to become an airline pilot, you’ll need anywhere from 1,000 to 1,500 flight hours in the USA to meet R-ATP or ATP experience requirements (FAR 61.159/160). For many new pilots, getting that initial experience is a huge challenge. Each option has pros and cons, and before you begin applying it’s important to find the right fit.
